What to expect

Sunday Worship, 5:30pm every week. Children's Church provided.

Whether you're a longtime church-goer, or visiting this crazy thing called "church" for the first time, we want you to feel welcome at Hope Church. Here's an overview of what to expect.

What to expect when you arrive

When you come through Hope's front door (right across from the parking lot), there will be a few friendly faces there to say hello, hand you a bulletin that outlines the order of service, and answer any questions you may have.

For about fifteen minutes before the service begins, Hope's musicians will play something suitable for reflection, prayer, or just letting go of the week's worries. Right about 5:30pm, the service begins. During worship children are invited to join our professionally staffed nursery for those 3 years and under, or our Montessori-styled Children's Church.

What to expect during worship

Our pastor (Rev. Elizabeth Myer Boulton) and each week's worship leaders will guide things as they go, and your bulletin will give you a rundown of that week's order of service. At Hope, we borrow from a wide variety of traditional Christian worship styles - and we like to think we infuse these traditions with a little funk, and a lot of spirit.

Each Sunday, we run the gamut from lyrical classical music to hand-clapping gospel, from silent prayer to stirring preaching. And each service concludes with Communion, a simple meal of bread that is broken and a cup that is shared. This meal forms the center of our life together.

What to expect after worship

Each service lasts about an hour, and afterwards, people usually stick around to have a little bite to eat and visit together as a community. About once a month, we also host a Super Sunday or a Supper Sunday! The extra P is for potluck, or our signature "Love Feast," a simple supper of soup, bread, cheese, and dessert. Everyone is invited!
