Taizé Prayer
Hope Church gathers together regularly to sing, pray, and hold silence in the style of Taizé, a diverse monastic community in France.
The Taizé community began in 1940 when, at the age of twenty-five, Brother Roger moved to France to begin a community where simplicity and kind-heartedness could be lived out as essential Gospel realities. Quickly the community became a place of shelter and shalom for many refugees fleeing the Second World War.
Today, the Taizé community is a place of pilgrimage each year for more that 5000 young adults from over 75 different countries. They come to experience the beauty of God through the simplicity of song, scripture, and silence.
